Government of Mongolia

The official opening ceremony of the project "The Workshop on Increasing Employment in Mongolia: The Development of Value-Added Livestock Products and Vegetable Production Value Chain with the Involvement of the Government of Mongolia" on April 12, 2016 organized.

UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has a history of partnership with the Government of Mongolia (GoM), to eradicate poverty and malnutrition through the development of the agriculture sector. It has, also, been
an active partner of the government in protecting the environment and promoting sustainable development and disaster risk management strategies of the country. All of those collaboration has started since 1973, when Mongolia became a member
of the FAO and the country office was accredited through the FAO Office in Beijing, China. In July 2009, a dedicated FAO Mongolia Office was established in Ulaanbaatar; with the FAO Representative in China accredited as its head. Over the past years, FAO has supported interventions in research, natural resources management, technology transfer, food and agriculture policy, livestock production systems management, emergency and post crisis management, forestry information, statistics, food security
and nutrition, emergency response operations, crop production system management, and food quality and safety.
United Nations Industrial and Development Organization (AOP)

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), French / Spanish acronym ONUDI, is a specialized agency in the United Nations system, headquartered in Vienna, Austria. The Organization's primary objective is the promotion and acceleration of industrial development in developing countries and countries with economies in transition and the promotion of international industrial cooperation.

Identify potential value chain solutions, possible solutions, methodologies and methods to implement them

Establishing classroom and distance learning, creating an environment for exchange of good experiences, technologies, and information exchange
Improve communication and collaboration among local government organizations, professional associations, private sector and other sectors

Outputs

The project aims to improve the competitiveness of meat, milk, wool, leather, vegetable value chain and promote appropriate employment through promoting green development.

Support for the project:
Supplier - Capacity building of herders, farmers' groups, cooperatives and cooperatives
Linking, developing, and linking producers and processors
Professional Advisory Groups to be formed and provide necessary counseling and training
